National Vetting Certificate - the NVC
We have launched the National Vetting Certificate in partnership with guardianjobs.
The NVC involves a series of background checks which prove a person has met BS 7858 - the UK's vetting standard.
Recruiters benefit from the NVC because it will enable them to identify the right candidate and reduce the risks of employing someone who may be trying to gain employment by deception.
- And applicants will benefit from an NVC because they will be able to raise their profile above other candidates by demonstrating their credibility to recruiters and apply for roles requiring them to be vetted prior to application.
The NVC is especially suited for:
- Employees who process credit / debit card information;
- Employees who handle customers' personal account details;
- Business Executives handling sensitive business data;
- People working within the security industry;
- Companies needing to meet insurance criteria.
The NVC is the only vetting certificate with NQA 3000 and UKAS accreditations - which proves an individual's background has been qualified to British Standard 7858.

The NVC process:
- Applicants complete an NVC application form and submit it to our vetting team who then carry out a series of background checks.
- During the checking process we may contact the applicant in order to obtain further details concerning their application.
- On completion of these checks we contact the applicant (or HR department) and report the pass or fail status of the application.
- All personal data is held in a secure system, and processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act by individuals who themselves have been vetted to BS 7858.
