  1. Emissions Baseline

Staffvetting.com has established our first reporting baseline emissions figure for the calendar year 2024, calculated using measured energy and operational data.

  • Baseline Year: 2024
  • Total Emissions: 6.822 tonnes CO₂e
  • Per Capita Emissions: 0.487 tonnes CO₂e per employee (14 staff)
  • Scopes Covered:
    • Scope 1: Direct emissions (e.g., fuel combustion, company vehicles) – minimal/negligible
    • Scope 2: Indirect emissions from purchased electricity
    • Scope 3: Includes business travel and purchased goods, where data is available

This figure represents a significantly lower carbon intensity than the UK business average and provides a strong foundation for future carbon reduction efforts.

  1. Carbon Reduction Targets

We have adopted a carbon reduction trajectory aligned with science-based and national net-zero targets, tailored to our already low emissions profile.

Residual emissions will be addressed through verified carbon offsetting, and we aim to reach net-zero by 2040, ahead of the UK government’s 2050 target.

Although our business has grown since the 2024 reporting year, our net-zero commitment is at the forefront of everything that we do.

  1. Planned Emissions Reduction Initiatives

To achieve these goals, we plan to implement the following initiatives:

  • Encourage or maintain remote or hybrid working to reduce commuting impacts
  • Prioritize low-carbon procurement, especially with digital tools and services
  • Obtain Carbon reduction plans from all of our suppliers to ensure alignment with our goals
  • Reduce and monitor Scope 3 emissions, including business travel and supply chain partners
  • Explore carbon removal or offsetting
  1. Monitoring and Reporting
  • This plan will be reviewed annually, with emissions recalculated and reported internally and, where appropriate, publicly.
  • We will use credible carbon accounting tools and methodologies aligned with GHG Protocol and UK government reporting frameworks.

 

Declaration and Sign Off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body).
